Satu H. Woodland, PMHCNS-BC, APRN, is the owner and Clinical Director of Hope Mental Health and provides an oasis of mental health care in the Boise, Idaho area. Ms. Woodland received undergraduate degrees from Brigham Young University and California State Dominguez Hills. She received her graduate education from the University of California, San Francisco.
More valuable to her than her education, Ms. Woodland has more than 30 years of experience working in medical clinics, OBGYN, pediatrics, elder care, community health and for the last 20 years she has worked in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry helping people with various mental health disorders including depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, attention deficit disorder, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar illness and various personality disorders.. Some of her favorite work is with Autistic and high functioning Aspergers and other intellectual and developmental conditions. Ms. Woodland enjoys working with people of different cultures, all sexual and gender orientations, and respects and honors religious and spiritual practices. She has a Minor in Cross Cultural Health Care from the University of California, San Francisco. She believes all people deserve to be heard and receive compassionate non-judgemental treatment.
Ms. Woodland with her background in nursing, prefers a holistic and integrative approach to mental health care that addresses the mind and body together. While Ms. Woodland provides medication management services in all her patients, she believes in long-lasting solutions that include a number of psychotherapies, namely cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention therapy, attention to lifestyle, evidenced based alternative psychiatric care and spirituality.
